Against this risk-off backdrop, Quant Rockets delivered a mixed session, with select pockets of strength. Storage and optical networking names led, as Sandisk (+4.61%), Lumentum (+4.27%), and Western Digital (+2.93%) posted solid gains, suggesting continued demand for data infrastructure plays even as broader tech faltered. Insmed (+2.16%) and Natera (+0.86%) provided resilience from the biotech and life sciences group, while Comfort Systems USA (+1.12%) stood out among industrials.
On the downside, speculative and high-beta tech names struggled—Zeta Global (-6.18%) and TTM Technologies (-5.37%) led declines, with CrowdStrike (-1.45%) and Micron (-1.98%) also under pressure, mirroring sector-wide weakness. As volatility climbs, Quant Rockets’ relative strength in select data and biotech holdings offers a constructive signal, while riskier growth and mining stocks remain under scrutiny.
Evan’s Commentary
Growth, momentum, and all of the existing high beta stocks that have been working continue to get flushed out. These purges and resets are a typical part of the cycle and while painful in the immediate term, they always set up great entries for the next uptrend, it might just take some time before the new trends emerge.
