Quantum computing and AI stocks gain momentum amid market split

U.S. stocks split paths today, with the Dow and S&P 500 fading while the Nasdaq held slightly in the green. That kind of divergence usually hints at rotation under the surface: money leaning toward growth, tech, and higher-beta names while more traditional sectors, especially energy, feel the pressure. A sharp drop in oil weighed on energy stocks, and rising day-to-day volatility kept index moves choppy rather than directional. Bitcoin’s bounce from recent lows added another layer, showing risk appetite isn’t gone, just more selective about where it shows up.

Quant Rockets Performance Highlights

Top Gainers Today

Circle Internet Group (CRCL): +9.77%

IonQ, Inc. (IONQ): +7.76%

D-Wave Quantum Inc. (QBTS): +7.50%

Largest Decliners Today

TTM Technologies, Inc. (TTMI): -6.13%

ABIVAX Société Anonyme (ABVX): -5.88%

Lumentum Holdings Inc. (LITE): -5.54%

That backdrop fit Quant Rockets reasonably well. The model doesn’t care whether indexes are red or green; it just looks for where price, volume, and volatility say momentum is alive. Today that meant strength in pockets tied to quantum computing, AI, and crypto-related themes.

Circle Internet Group (CRCL) led the book, jumping 9.77% as buyers kept bidding up a still-strong upswing after recent consolidation. IonQ (IONQ) and D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) added 7.76% and 7.50%, reinforcing the idea that capital is clustering around speculative growth and future-tech stories rather than broad market strength.

Crypto-adjacent names also played their part. Cipher Mining (CIFR) gained 1.70%, while Core Scientific (CORZ) slipped 3.60% as it digested prior gains. The model doesn’t try to guess where Bitcoin is headed next; it simply stays with names whose individual trends still meet its rules and cuts back when volatility shifts from constructive to damaging.

The day wasn’t kind to every growth or semiconductor play. Micron (MU) fell 2.10% and Lumentum (LITE) dropped 5.54%, a reminder that even in favored themes, individual charts can lose momentum quickly. TTMI slid 6.13%, and ABVX gave back 5.88% as their recent breakouts failed to follow through.

What ties the winners and laggards together is the process. Quant Rockets scans the entire U.S. equity universe each day, promotes only the strongest momentum structures, and relies on predefined exits when that momentum breaks. In a market where indexes send mixed signals but certain niches are trending hard, a rules-based, stock-by-stock approach helps stay involved in leadership while systematically backing away from names that stop pulling their weight.
