Rotation Holds as Chip Leadership Gets Tested
Market Environment
Stocks finished firmer beneath the surface, but the leadership map changed. Money rotated out of AI and semiconductor leaders, including QQQ and SMH pressure, after Broadcom-related guidance disappointment and moved into Dow, small-cap, health care, financial, real estate, and biotech pockets.
The tape held together instead of turning into a broad selloff. DIA, IWM, XLV, and XLF reflected that rotation, which matters because traders are heading into Friday’s jobs data with risk appetite intact but crowded tech leadership under pressure.
Quant Rockets Momentum Model
Quant Rockets finished slightly lower, with 20 positions up and 29 down. The equal-weight book was down modestly as strength in AAOI, STRL, RKLB, and other industrial or optical-infrastructure names was offset by weakness in memory, leveraged semiconductors, and software.
Performance Highlights Today
Top Gainers Today
Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AAOI): +10.16%
Natera, Inc. (NTRA): +4.84%
Rocket Lab Corporation (RKLB): +4.58%
Largest Decliners Today
Micron Technology, Inc. (MU): -7.74%
Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares (SOXL): -6.32%
Sandisk Corporation (SNDK): -3.93%
STRL hit a 10R profit target, up 126.60% from entry, while AAOI was the standout daily winner and MU was the biggest loser. The model also added AMKR, keeping some new exposure inside technology even as chip leadership was being tested.

The Takeaway
The rules-based market health indicator remains in a strong swing environment, now persisting for 39 consecutive days. The stronger message today was not broad upside inside the portfolio, but selective opportunity: one profit target was harvested, 49 positions remain active, and the week’s activity still shows more buying and profit targets than exits.
